Construction of the Watsonova project continues according to schedule, and further significant progress has been achieved throughout June. The largest volume of work is currently concentrated on Section A, which remains the most advanced part of the development.
On Building A1, the concrete slab above the 2nd floor has been completed. This milestone was followed by the construction of the vertical structural elements of the 3rd floor, which currently represent the highest completed part of the project.
Construction activities on Sections B and C are also progressing as planned. As the main construction resources are currently focused on Section A, the pace of work on these sections has been somewhat more moderate compared to the previous period. However, construction intensity on Sections B and C is expected to increase gradually in the coming months.
Significant progress has also been made in the area of technical infrastructure. Sewer connections along Stará Spišská cesta Street have been completed, and the first infiltration facility designed for rainwater retention within the project area has also been finished.
During this week, work commenced on sewer connections along Watsonova Street. These activities require temporary traffic restrictions and will be carried out in several phases. The completion of the first phase is scheduled for June 22, 2026.
Following the completion of the sewer connections, construction of another infiltration facility on the northern side of the development will begin, further expanding the project’s rainwater management system.
The construction site infrastructure is also being expanded. By the end of June, the sixth tower crane is scheduled to be installed, primarily serving the construction of the structural framework in Section B. This will be followed by the installation of a seventh crane on the northern side of the site. At the peak of construction activity, a total of ten tower cranes will operate on the project, with the tallest reaching approximately 85 metres in height.
Painting works on walls and ceilings within the underground garage areas are scheduled to begin during June. These will be followed throughout July and August by the installation of internal sewerage, water supply, electrical and ventilation systems.
At the same time, discussions continue with the district heating utility regarding the construction of the hot-water supply connection that will ensure the future connection of the buildings to the central heating network.
From a technical perspective, one of the most interesting upcoming phases will be the construction of the slab above the 3rd floor of Building A1. Due to a one-metre setback of the reinforced concrete structure, the use of special climbing formwork and cantilever structures will be required. This phase of construction is scheduled for the end of June.
The Watsonova project therefore continues to progress in line with the planned construction schedule and is steadily approaching further important development milestones.
